Since 1996 she is a member of LaRiCA (research laboratoy on advanced communication) and her studies concern the communication activities promoted by public and no-profit organizations in the new medial ecosystem. On these issues she published monographies and articles in scientific journals.

Her main field of research is "Sociology of Communication", with a specific interest in the role of communication in public administrations. She coordinates a research group on public sector communication with a specific focus on Italian institutions. On these issues recently Laura Solito published articles and monographies.
