Aspetti quantitativi e qualitativi della flora del Salento (Puglia meridionale - Italia)

E' stata valutata, in base a dati bibliografici, la consistenza quantitativa e qualitativa della flora del Salento (Puglia meridionale - Italia). Il numero dei taxa subgenerici ammonta a 1377, suddivisi in 574 generi e 111 famiglie. Le terofite rappresentano il 44,2% delle forme biologiche presenti. Per quanto riguarda l’aspetto corologico, il 57,4% degli elementi sono di tipo mediterraneo. Gli aspetti biologici e corologici della flora salentina sono stati comparati con quelli dell’intera regione Puglia e con altri distretti mediterranei.

The authors, on the basis of bibliographical data, carried out the numerical consistence of the vascular flora of the Salento region: it amounts to 1377 subgeneric taxa, corresponding to 574 genera and 111 families. The biological and chorological aspects of the vascular flora are analyzed and compared with the ones of other Mediterranean regions. The life forms (44,2% therophytes, 25,6% hemicryptophytes, 12,4% geophytes, 8,3% phanerophytes, 6,6% chamaephytes, 2,3% hydrophytes and 0,6% helophytes) emphasize the mediterranean character of the vascular flora. The chorological aspects support this valuation; indeed the 57,4% of elements are represented by mediterranean, the 16,1% by eurasiatic and the 14,3% by widely spreaded elements with 7,2% of adventive and naturalized ones. The endemic element amounts to 41 subgeneric taxa, accounting for 3%, and presents 4 entities confined to the Salento region.
