Oltre i confini della città. "Bolle" democratiche e nuove trame relazionali = Beyond the city limits. Democratic "bubbles" and new relational plots
Abstract
The contribution critically explores the concepts of the Anthropocene and Urbanocene as hermeneutical keys to understand the intertwining of ecological crisis, urban transformations and democratic tensions in contemporary times. The Anthropocene, despite its controversial scientific validity, is interpreted as a powerful ethical-political metanarrative that calls for a critical stance against neoliberal capitalism and its socio-environmental consequences. In light of its aporias, a re-reading of the paradigm is proposed through the concept of the Urbanocene, which allows ecological dynamics to be situated within the complex metamorphosis of contemporary cities. The reflection focuses particularly on the crisis of urban democratic models, suggesting the need for new relational frameworks and participatory devices capable of transcending the traditional boundaries of the city and breaking the "bubbles" in which democracy risks becoming trapped.
