Tra occultamento e trasparenza: l'antropocene in Kohei Saito e Byung Chul-Han = Between concealment and transparency: the anthropocene in Kohei Saito and Byung Chul-Han
Abstract
The contribution analyzes the tension between concealment and transparency in the society of the Anthropocene through a comparison between Kohei Saito's ecosocialist thought and Byung-Chul Han's cultural critique. Drawing from different theoretical frameworks, the two authors converge in denouncing the contradictions of contemporary techno-capitalism: the concealment of material effects in the periphery (Saito) is positioned as the prerequisite for the spectacularized transparency of the center (Han). The article offers a complementary reading of the two approaches in order to outline new theoretical spaces for a critique of the Anthropocene oriented toward emancipatory ethical-political perspectives.
