Los ecos de la educación musical en la naciente producción poética de federico garcía lorca

Abstract

This article aims to examine how Lorca’s juvenile poetry shows a connection to music in different ways: by using words that refer to exquisitely musical forms as a title or subtitle of poems; through the use of technical music terms to express feelings and that is not only sign of the perception of music as a self-expression of feelings, but also source of metaphors and analogies in order to express them with words; with explicit referencies to composers or pieces of music; with allusions to musical elements in the descriptions; finally, by writing two music-themed poems and focusing on the importance of the auditory perception during life and creative process. The use of terms closely connected to music will gradually disappear during the creative experience analysed in this work. As Lorca mastered the new medium of expression, the poetry, he no longer needed music to express himself. However, inevitably, that same music will still play behind many of his words.

Keywords: Lorca; música; poesía juvenil; sonidos; metáforas.
