Abstract
El presente análisis se centra en los conocidos patrones de lexicalización de Talmy para la expresión de los eventos de movimiento (Talmy 1985, 2000). Las lenguas se dividen según el tipo de esquema por el que preferentemente opten; el inglés, lengua de marco satélite, codifica la manera en el verbo y el camino en un satélite (The bottle floated into the cave), mientras que el español, lengua de marco verbal, codifica el camino en el verbo, y expresa la manera mediante un adverbial o gerundio (La botella entró a la cueva flotando). Estudios recientes demuestran que las lenguas pueden ofrecer ambas opciones de codificación (Beavers 2008, Beavers et al. 2010, Filipovic 2007, Croft et al. 2010, inter alia). En este artículo se analizan ejemplos de corpus de estructuras de marco verbal en ingles, y estructuras de marco satélite en español, y se comparan con el patrón común en la otra lengua. Se argumenta que la diferente estructura retórica de cada patrón de lexicalización confiere una diferencia de significado significativa. Esto explicaría por qué surgen ambos patrones dentro de una misma tipología.
