The Conference "Methods, Models and Information Technologies for Decision Support Systems", MTISD 2008, represents an itinerant conference, continuation of the previous editions MTISD 2006 and MTISD 2004, had place in Procida and Benevento, organized respectively by the Facoltà di Scienze Politiche dell'Università degli Studi di Napoli "L'Orientale" and the Facoltà di Scienze Economiche Aziendali dell’Università del Sannio .
The aim of the Conference is the diffusion of the economics, engineering, mathematics and statistics methodologies, applied to the decisional processes of the information and communication society.
MTISD 2008 introduces theoretical and applicative problems related to the decision support systems, in the fields of the services quality, risks in the economic and financial contest, processes optimization and evaluation of the public policies impact, supplying a common place for having a dialog and interaction among the several disciplines.
The Conference promotes the presentation of theoretical and applicative proposals in the economics, engineering, mathematics and statistics fields, that are significant for the problem solving in the sphere of decisional processes.

All the short papers that appear in this proceedings have been subjected to rigorous peer review and cover a wide range of theoretical and applicative statistical issues from authors around the world.
