This is an exposition of a number of topics in hamiltonian mechanics.the treament is utterly classical and the aim is to stress the underlying ideas without any claim of rigour.On the other hand some topics are included which are not included in usual treaments,and the presentation is not a standard one.Some Mathematical prerequisites are given and it is shown that they are not just useful means for understanding the subject but essential aspects of hamiltonian mechanics.
