Abstract [English v.]: Since it was established in 1998, the PATLIB Centre of the University of Lecce has represented an essential point of reference for students and academics of this university, as well as for local entrepreneurial associations and the SME's. Through the use of innovative technological and computer systems, the Centre, which is managed by the SIBA Coordination of the University of Lecce, has been taking form as a cutting edge structure for the diffusion of patent information and the promotion and development of technological innovation. The Centre includes laboratories and highly technological computer and telematic structures for the on-line management and consultation of the national and international patent documentation and the supplying of information services in the territory, differentiated for each type of users. It has technical and scientific staff highly qualified in various disciplines to support training activities, assistance, monitoring and planning of programmes for research and technological development. What has been achieved at a local and national level, has now been extended at a European level through the Informative System EEIS-PATLIB. This system, based on the cooperation "interPATLIB", is committed in consortium exchanges and purchases of informative resources as well as in the sharing of technical resources and specific competences.

Abstract [Italian v.]: Sin dal 1998, anno della sua costituzione, il Centro PATLIB dell'Università di Lecce ha rappresentato un punto di riferimento fondamentale per i docenti e gli studenti dell'Ateneo, per le Associazioni Industriali e per le Piccole e Medie Imprese del territorio salentino. Il Centro, gestito dal Coordinamento SIBA dell'Università di Lecce mediante l'utilizzo di sistemi tecnologici ed informatici innovativi, si è infatti configurato come una struttura all'avanguardia nella diffusione dell'informazione brevettuale e nella promozione e sviluppo dell'innovazione tecnologica. Esso è dotato di laboratori e strutture informatiche e telematiche tecnologicamente avanzati per la gestione e consultazione in rete della documentazione brevettuale nazionale ed internazionale e per l'erogazione sul territorio di servizi di informazione, differenziati per le diverse tipologie di utenza. Dispone di personale tecnico e scientifico altamente qualificato nei vari ambiti disciplinari per le attività di training, di assistenza, monitoraggio e progettazione di Programmi di Ricerca e Sviluppo Tecnologico. I risultati raggiunti a livello locale e nazionale sono stati estesi a livello europeo attraverso il Sistema Informativo EEIS-PATLIB, basato sulla cooperazione "interPATLIB", sullo scambio e l'acquisto consortile di risorse informative e sulla condivisione di risorse tecniche e competenze specifiche.
