Considerazioni su alcuni papiri di argomento retorico nella collezione ercolanese
Abstract
The number of catalogued papyri concerning rhetoric stands out as particularly high within the Herculaneum collection. This is mainly due to fragmentation suffered by the Herculaneum volumina as a result not only of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius but also of following operations of unrolling and opening of the rolls, especially through socalled scorzatura. The present article aims at giving an updated overview of the papyri which can be ascribed to Philodemus' De rhetorica on the basis of the most recent acquisitions, and at reflecting on the papyri, that have been generally considered rhetorical by subject, but have not yet been attributed to a particular book.
