The delirious icon. Explorations of Triptych of Earthly Delights by Bosch. Very few news are available about Hieronymous Bosch. Probably born in 1453 at s’Hertogenbosch (Brabant), he spent all his life in his native town. Many investigations have been tried for interpreting his more complex work and masterpiece, the Triptych of Earthly Delights (Prado Museum, Madrid). The essay reports the crowding of symbols of the Triptyc and the different ways to make sense from them. But the research to get a supreme design for attribuiting correct meaning to the singular figures and scene is destined to fail.
