Le schede per la banca dati ALON. Ipotesi sul trattamento del vocabolario del Melzi

Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to illustrate the hypothesis for the structure of the entries for the portal ALON (Archive of the Lexicography of the Nineteenth-Twentieth Century – PRIN 2022), which is designed to collect information and data related to lexicographic works produced and published between the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries. Each part of the entries is described here in detail, with the aim of verifying a specific set of methods and criteria to treat the various vocabularies catalogued and illustrating the problems that have emerged, concerning in particular lexicographic works with many editions and remakes. In this regard, the encyclopedic and scholastic dictionary of Giovanni Battista Melzi, whose complex publishing history brought out critical issues, was chosen as testbed for testing the structure of the ALON entries.
