Abstract


Bartolomé de Las Casas (Sevilla, 1474 - Madrid, 1566) was an exceptional witness to the expansions of the Spanish in the Indies. Theologian, historian, jurist, politician and polemicist, his views on Human Rights an Peace endorsed his vast culture allows him to offer very timely guidelines to the current world, especially since his last stage, in which he adopts the perspective of victim persons and the vengeance, as a starting point for establishing the law of just war.
