Intorno a Padre Piaggio. Tra Roma e Napoli (1741-1758)

Abstract

At the very beginning of the history of papyrology, Father Piaggio deserves to be considered the father figure of papyrus conservation. Testimonies relating to the earlier part of his life can be usefully re-read, and re-assessed in this light.
